"My daughter was born in 2006 with ..."

About: Poole General Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

My daughter was born in 2006 with bilateral talipes (clubfoot), she was treated very well by all staff concerned from the physio dept, Orthotics and consultant. Her feet are a lot better from when she was born, but still have a long way to go. She was treated with the tradional strapping, physio and surgery method.

What could be improved

More choices should be made aware to parents as to different treatments, as we have since taken our daughter to see a consultant in Manchester (NHS) who could have treated her with another method (Ponseti) . We are at present waiting to be treated at Southampton with the Ponseti method. Please be aware that you can ask for second opinions and there are different treatments available in other hospitals.
