"Speedy A&E assessment at James Cook hospital"

About: The James Cook University Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

Speedy service through A&E. Fell off bike and taken to James Cook by friend. Arrived approx 7. 45pm, registered, waited about 20 mins, triaged by nurse, given entinox, taken by George for X-ray, back to A&E, seen by Dr assessed, monitored by nurse and further pain relief and sling applied. Back home within 2 hours including 30 mins travelling. A&E was busy but we feel under the circumstances we were very appropriately prioritised. As we don't live in the area we were given the notes and X-ray and an appointment made at our local fracture clinic for further assessment and treatment of fractured collar bone. Thank you to all involved.

Car park requiring coins to get out caused a problem as we didn't have coins and patient was unwell and needed to get to car to sit down.
