Anything else?
My 88yr old mother was taken to a and e department at 12 midnight from the care home with a suspected stroke we were informed from the staff at the home so arrived there around 12-30. when we got there all bloods etc had been done and staff were very caring. When it got to 4-0clock I decided to ask what was going on as no dr had seen he. They then moved her to the assessment place and after about 15 mins the sister in charge came to us and I told her my concerns about my mother being on a trolley all this time and at her age it started to concern me.It was explained to me that it was very busy and I could see that for myself.I was informed that there had been 4 doctors on duty until 2-0 clock and then it went down to 2. So as all the staff were working flat out why are there not enough dr to cover the care. I and my family feel that to keep elderly people on a trolley nearly 5 hours before being seen by the doctors is not acceptable and feel it should be bought to your attention. Thank goodness she had'nt had a stroke and was discharged later that morning.
