I had a scheduled 9am appointment to look into possible causes of my sometime feeling of breathlessness. I was seen at approximately 08.55am for a preliminary check up (ECG, weight & height check) by a very polite, cheerful & efficient nurse. I then waited for no longer than 3 minutes before being called in to see one of the consultants registra's. I was then given a thorough and very comprehensive examination with explanations given at every stage as to what was being carried out and the reasons why. His attention to detail & displayed competence made me feel very relaxed and confident that I was being well cared for. Before I retired I was fortunate to have private medical insurance which unfortunately I had cause to use on many occasions. However, the NHS treatment I experienced on this occasion left me with nothing but praise for all the staff who were involved. They were a credit to their profession.
