"My father recently had a stroke ..."

About: West Cornwall Hospital (Penzance)

(as a relative),

What I liked

My father recently had a stroke and stayed in Penzance for a month. I am his daughter so I am writing this from my experience.

Although not a stroke unit, this hospital I feel is one of the really good ones. On the whole the staff are attentive, caring and very helpful. The hospital is very clean, bright and modern. I found the majority of staff very keen to help and support my father, with the limited resources available.

The staff always tried to make time to talk to the us but the most respect goes to all the staff (whilst working around patients) who spared the time to stop and chat and joke with a patient - this was lovely. I felt this really brightened up people's days.

I also found the staff to be very flexible especially re:visiting times, as we live in Wales.

A very friendly and caring community hospital.

A really big thank you to all who helped my father and his family through this traumatic period.

We really appreciate it.

What could be improved

More resources.
