"quality of antenatal care / time keeping"

About: St Helier Hospital

Anything else?

Just wanted to share my experience with the quality of antenatal care in this hospital. I am currenly pregnant with twins and have been seen by midwifes and consultants.

The time keeping is terrible. I have spent more than 60 minutes waiting for my scan, without any explanation or apology.

Had to make 2 additional visits to the hospital as my blood samples were not properly labeled... and so today I have been told that my ultrasound was cancelled because I was 20 minutes late. Please note that I am working in central london and rely on public transport and trafic to be on time for the appoitments. I have also informed the reception that I will be late.

There is no choice about when you are booked for an antenatal appoitment and I found this service unsuitable for all people that work and dont live locally.

I will be writing to CEO of this hospital also.

Very very dissapointed

Thank you for your comments. Whilst waiting one hour seems excessive - particularly for some of our pregnant patients, this is well within the NHS waiting time guidelines. Admittedly our staff could inform patients of delays and we will ensure staff try to do so in the future. Pippa Hart Director of Nursing
