What I liked
The medical resident on the ward was absolutely fabulous - very kind, clear and treated patient and family very well. The book shop in the hospital is fabulous.
What could be improved
Lack of complete medical notes from GP led to a very unfortunate incident. Not all nursing and auxiliary staff seemed caring and committed. My mother was on a ward for the elderly and had to listen to another patient permanently crying 'help me' - she was obviously very distressed and confused but staff mainly ignored the situation.
My mother had one shower in a two-week stay and was distressed that her hair was filthy and her fingernails very grubby. I felt not enough effort was put into feeding the elderly patients.
The staff didn't seem to work together very well and - with a few honourable exceptions -didn't seem very interested in their patients. Mostly they stayed outside the bay.
