"Mullions restaurant"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

Anything else?

I recently had to attend nuclear med for a bone scan. Following an IV injection it was suggested I go to Mullions for lunch to enable me to have somewhere to go during the 2 hours before I could be scanned.

I had a light lunch of soup/roll and cup of tea - I was disturbed to find that the tea bags were in a large ' open to all ' bowl , and the bread rolls were unwrapped

Twelve hours later I developed a severe stomach complaint, which could quite possibly be Noro virus

I would like to suggest that hand sanitisers are made available in the restaurant and that most importantly individual packaged tea bags and rolls etc are offered.

Considering the high incidence of cross infection something as simple as this should not be happening

It would also be beneficial if scan patients had a comfortable area they could rest in

whilst waiting for further treatment - quite often patients are not allowed to eat/drink between scans and there is nowhere comfortable to sit away from food

I also feel that staff should have some privacy in the form of their own dining area as I was privy to many conversations about their work and worries

And there is no Nuclear Med/scans option on the drop down department field in this survey.
