On being discharged from the Northern General Hospital about 7 months ago, after being treated for an infection found myself housebound because of difficulties in walking and breathing.
I was visited in my home by the heart nurse Sarah Briggs who diagnosed fluid on the ankles and stomach she advised me on doses of medication to reduce the fluid and provided me with a breathing trainer, which I use daily to improve my breathing. She also referred me to the physio who visited and recommended walking exercises to improve my walking.
Sarah continues to visit regularly to check my progress. She regularly checks my blood pressure and oxygen levels, medication and diagnostic bloods.
She is professional and friendly and is obviously an expert in her field, she also collaborates regularly with my GP.
I look forward to her visits knowing that if I have any worries or queries that she will listen attentively and provide expert advice.
I believe that I receive better service from Sarah Briggs the visiting Heart Nurse than I would get from visiting Hospital Out Patients appointments.
"I look forward to her visits and hearing her expert advice"
