Exceptionally well looked after on Brockham Ward. Staff were extremely busy, busy ward with patients needing a lot of attention.

Only criticism is of the visiting time, these have been reduced to one hour in the afternoon and one hour in the evening.

This makes it very difficult for parking and impacts the people attending clinics, causing them to be late.

Thank you for taking the time to post your positive comments about Brockham Ward and I will ensure that the staff receive them, and they will be delighted to do so.

In relation to visiting, as you will be aware it has been a really tough time over the last few months in relation to outbreaks all over the country of nasty infections such as norovirus. In order to ensure that these infections were contained - we had to restrict our visiting times - although if there was a particular reason that a patient needed a visitor to stay longer or come in earlier - we were happy to review these on an individual basis. We are very pleased that we managed our infection control and prevention well and consider one of the reasons that contributed to this was that we were quite strict on visiting.

Things are improving daily at a national level and we are reviewing our visiting times regularly. We hope in the very near future when we are fully assured that it is the right thing to do for patient care, that we will be able to lift our restrictions.
