"Dissapointed no telephone calls accepted - just..."

Anything else?

I had - and still have need to contact your audio department at Samuel Johnson where I was told I was in need of treatment at Queens, and an appointment would be made as soon as possible with the consultant, but five months on, to date , no response

Requesting the number via Burton, for help - at Samuel Johnson, making contact, the result was nil. Why are calls not being taken, but 'hung up'?

I made several attempts to get through but once again it seems no one is at hand to take telephone calls at this hospital (01543 412911) not just bad practice but bad manners

it is almost six months for my awaited appointment at Queens which was to have been arranged by your audio department - another 'let down?

P Yates.

Response from Samuel Johnson Community Hospital

The time you have been waiting, and the confusion regarding which number you should call, is unacceptable. We apologise for the mistake that was made regarding the telephone number you have been calling. The number 01543 412911 is not known to us at Queen's or at Samuel Johnson - and it does just cut off. We are unable to explain how you were given this wrong number and we apologise wholeheartedly. All audiology appointments should be made through Queen's Hospital, Burton, and the number you should have been given for the audiology department was 01283 566333, extension 5188. We are sorry that your experience has fallen far below the standards we strive to achieve in patient and customer care and hope that if you call the audiology department at Queen's on the number given above this appointment can be secured for you without further delay. If you would like the Trust to investigate this further we will need you to contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service to provide more information. They can be contacted on 01283 593110 between 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday
