I have nothing but the greatest respect for the emergency services that cut my 19 year old daughter out of her car and treated her on the way to MK Hosp, they were truly amazing.
Once in the trauma room the doctors and nurses quickly did their job working as a fantastic team. Everyone treated my daughter like she was their own, very gentle and caring. Someone even staying with her in the CT scan when they shouldn't even have been on duty in that dept.
They let us stay with her all the time and gave us as much information, explaining all that was going on. When she moved up to Ward 22 they put her at ease and have some wonderful nurses there. When her surgery was done everything was explained and I was still able to stay with her.
The nurses are run off their feet, they aren't sitting around doing nothing, there just isn't enough of them. They work extremely hard but just can't do everything. I was allowed to be with her at all times so I saw how busy they were.
Next time I am sat in A&E waiting, I will remember the emergency work that is going on in the other rooms. Yes, the hospital wards could be cleaner and yes the food is atrocious, but the care given by the nurses is fantastic.
"Thank you for my daughter's care after a road accident"
