"post whittles operation"

About: Southampton General Hospital

Anything else?

after been in HDU for several days my stay on E8 was very unsatisfactory .I received no direct nursing care and was left to my own efforts for personal hygiene . My wound was niether looked at or enquired as to how it felt . A drip stand holding my P.C.A. was removed once I was on the ward to use for another patient ,this meant I was unable to move about the ward as the P.C.A. was too heavy to carry. The stand was eventually replaced by one held together by electricians insulation tape !

Thank you for your feedback. Please accept our apologies for a delay in our response. Clearly your experience was not satisfactory and we are very sorry that we failed to meet the standards we would expect. Your coments have been passed to the Matron for the area. Please be assured that all broken equipment has a clear process in place for it to be reported and repaired.
