Anything else?
I personally is not satisfied with the way the NHS has been operating. My appendix erupt a round the end of July 2012,slowly became severe ,visited my PG 14 August and eventually was admitted in hospital 19/8/12 with lower right pain and right groin pain which made me unable to walk.I was diagnosed appendicitis .I spent 8 days in .I was prepared for a CT scan 26th August to be taken on the 27th August, but on the Monday morning 27th I was told I could go home. With the pain still in progress,I was given pain killers tablets though it was down to from 10 -5 from 10. On the 11th September I was back in hospital in severe pain ,again I spent 6 days in and was sent home. On the 6th November,I saw the consultant who said the pain has settled ,I told him I still in pain and at time I limp on leg.he told me I will not get read of the pain even if I had the appendix out.I told him I would rather having it out.At this point he said he would put me on the waiting list for December. All through Xmas I was Diarrhea ,vomiting on an off at times. My GP was appalled of my waiting and in February I visited my surgery twice in pain and the doctor sent a fax immediately to the hospital. On the 14th March I had a phone the secretary to attend a p"re-op consultation at the hospital 20th March and admission on the 21/3/13 for 7 am admission in the old hospital where they had to reopened only for the admission ,after 10 or 15 patients waited at the door to be open at 7.30.a.m ,was,t good enough,we all ad to stand waiting ,nothing to sit on .I was in pain. All the procedures were taken, seen by the doctors pressures taken ,the at 1.35.pm patients were called in one by one and to be told ,sorry " we cannot do your operation because their would be no beds after your operation"This was rather frustrating for me .On the 14 September when I asked the consultant, why cant I have my appendix out ,His reply to me was " you would have to be in severe pain to have it out." I told him more pain than what I am in ! and his reply was Do you want to wear a bag ?Or part of your stomach remove? that was shocking for me from a doctor though I have had 4 "C" Hysterectomy,1976. and gall stone 1998 .I know it is a delicate operation ,but to say that to me ,leaving scared even though I still need to have it out ,I find appalling, because now his own words came in a letter to my GP after I wrote a letter to the consultant it is all through short of beds .Why was I sent home in the first place after two hospital ambulance admittance ? .All through my C sections and hys. gallstone removal I have never been bad .Queen Elizabeth Hospital has certainly bitten off more that what they chew, by even closing Selly Oak Hospital which could be serving part of the community.THE QEH is serving too wide afield and this is the problem, that others are lying to cover their backs. Not good enough. GP's hands are tied, Hospital Doctors hands are tied .
