I have just spent the day in DCH having a lumpectomy and cannot fault the treatment I have received, or the staff I have encountered. At all times I was treated with respect and everything that was happening to me was explained clearly. Having an operation is an anxious time but the people I came into contact with put me at ease, and when it came to going to theatre I actually felt quite relaxed. I have to praise the Easton Ward which has been opened to deal with patients who can probably go home the same day as their procedure. Unlike previous times when I have been admitted to hospital, I was discharged very quickly with my medication and paperwork. This is a marvellous idea as I am a great believer that patients recover more quickly at home in their own environment. I do hope that management see that Easton Ward is a fantastic idea, not only for the patients but also from the financial point of view.
