I presently have a father in the Countess who has been admitted five times since last July and he's still no further on in his treatment he's treated for the immediate problem then discharged "to be seen in outpatients".
The root cause to his problems have never been investigated and you are constantly made to feel "rushed" into getting better and that they have no time for you, terrible treatment at times.
I also currently have my mother in Wrexham hospital and it's such a contrast. Staff have time for you, they'll talk on the phone or pass messages on, they make everyone in the family feel involved.
Consultants are always available and come to wards when requested unlike Chester, where we waited 3 weeks for a urologist.
We always joke when we've visited mum then go off to visit dad that were going on to the "3rd world hospital now" and that's worrying, it's always so stressful dealing with staff in Chester.
You never feel like that at the Maelor and I've dealt with both hospitals many many times in the past ten years.
