Anything else?
After previous good experiences of NMGH A&E I have recently had a bad experience.
My daughter (3 years old) was very poorly and I had taken her to my local Drop-In centre twice. She got worse with a temp of 40.4 so I took her to A&E, we waited two hours and she had perked up lots when we got to see the doctor. My daughter already had a water infection that was being treated so the doctor did not even examine her and told us to continue with paracetamol/ibuprofen/fluids and see the GP to check she was on the correct antibiotics.
The next day my daughter was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia and spent 7 days there with a partially collapsed lung. My GP did his job and listened to my concerns, examined her and sent her directly to the childrens unit. I just wish the doctor at A&E examined her properly, things may have ended up the same but I do worry what would have happened if I hadn't have gone back to my GP.
