"Would love a new knee"

About: Northampton General Hospital (Acute)

Anything else?

Hi Im 46 yrs old and have grade 4 patellofemoral osteoarthritis and medial femoral condyle in october last year i was admitted and had a Arthroscopic Chondroplasty + Microfracture.I was told that the best had been done and that really i need a knee replacement but due to my age this cannot be done.I was instructed to be non weight bearing for 8-9 wks.

I have returned to see the consultant many times and have told them that i still have pain and am finding it hard to walk on that leg again i was told that new knee replacement was on the table but im too young, they told me i had not given the knee enough time to heal and to carry on with physio which im only going once a month as they have no appointments......

I am unable to work and have become depressed i feel my quality of life has changed i would just like a new knee so i can get back to normal :)
