Anything else?
We recently had a baby boy at the Whittington, and unfortunately he developed an infection, presumably shortly after birth. The midwives on the Murray ward were knowledgeable enough to realise that his cries didn't sound right and alerted a paediatrician. He was then admitted to NICU for 3 days where the care was exemplary. The doctors and nurses couldn't have been more caring or helpful, and it made what was a stressful experience so much more bearable.
Once our boy was discharged from NICU I stayed on the Cellier ward with him for a few more days (he had to have a 5-day antibiotics course in total), and again the care was fantastic. I had a private room with bathroom (I'm not sure how I qualified for this but I didn't ask!) and excellent care and support from the midwives, especially with regards to breastfeeding -- and generally caring for a newborn.
I can't praise the care and consideration we received enough and we're extremely grateful.
"Fantastic experience at the Whittington"
