Anything else?
My partner was sent as an "urgent" case from srp,he was having chest pain and they told us at srp it was unstable angina. On a Friday night & you have the usual drunks coming in! Ambulances backed up & waiting on corridors,a small waiting area within the unit that was just littered with rubbish.we waited 7 1/2hrs & wasnt seen by 1dr! A nurse took an ecg & that was it,5hrs later we said the pain was getting worse & to that dhe said she would sort medication out......never arrived! What was very upsetting was my partner is a prison officer& had just done a 14hr shift,he also had a brain tumor removed of the base of his brain.he was very tired and very uncomfortable, the annoying thing was a young drunk came in,he played up for staff, swearing but yet said "oh he needs a rest" found him a cubicle to sleep in! I am also a nurse and had worked a shift that day & still in uniform. Icwas utterly appauled by what i saw & experienced.in the end my partner walked out without being treated.
