"Lack Of Dignity and Respect"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

Anything else?

My mother in law was discharged from this hospital in her nighty, soiled. They put her in an ambulance and did not even wait for us to bring her some clothes. For an elderly confused patient this is not very good or courteous. The NHS Constitution indicates "we have the right to be treated with dignity and respect" and this has clearly not happened here.

Dear NHS Feedback Line 1,

I am sorry to hear about your mother in law's experience at the Queen's Hospital, Romford.

I was just curious to know if you have made a complaint, and if so, has it been acknowledged?

Should you wish to complain, I recommend that you contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) for the Queen's Hospital, Romford in the first instance to take your complaint directly to the point of care, but you may also wish to register your experience with Healthwatch England. Healthwatch England is the new consumer champion for health and social care which has a role in gathering people’s views on their local health and care services to influence and challenge how they are provided. You can find your local healthwatch on the following link:

http://www.healthwatch.co.uk/

You may also wish to use the NHS Constitution further to support your correspondence with these organisations. The NHS Constitution can be found on the following link:

I hope that helps a little,

NHS Constitution Team
