Anything else?
I have just returned home after a two night stay in Ward 11. I was sent in as an emergency by my GP at 5.30 pm with severe pain, fast heart rate and high temperature. I walked into Ward 11 with letter in hand unfortunately I had to sit out in the corridor area not because of the ward but because of a young male who was throwing his rattle out of the pram and kicking off because he wasn’t getting what he thought was priority attention. The fact that the surgeons were working at full pelt was of no interest to this child. Anyway rant over when I eventually was called back into the ward by the Sister, I was treated with extreme kindness, professionalism and care by everyone from the porter, the catering staff, the nurses the staff nurses and the doctors. Thank you to the wonderful Team of staff on ward 11 Excellent. You restored my faith in Heartlands after several very bad experiences over the years with myself and loved ones who have unfortunately had to spend time in hospital. You do a fantastic job and often very difficult but other wards could learn from your ward. It is easy to complain when it’s bad so I thought I would say something positive for a change.
