"Avoid A&E at Queen's hospital"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

Anything else?

My partner has a chronic bladder condition and has been unlucky enough to require emergency treatment at Queens on several occasions. The treatment, or more accurately, the lack of treatment he received from the A&E consultant was truly appalling. On the last occasion he was deliberately left in agonising pain for over 5 hours simply because of the consultant's failure to understand chronic neuropathic pain; made worse by his refusal to consult with my partner's pain specialist or even read the care plan provided by the GP. Arrogance at its best. The complete lack of compassion, or empathy shown by the nurses was disgraceful, and I think they should consider how they would feel if a member of their family was treated in this way. Sadly this was not a unique experience for us. Botched hernia operation which resulted in my partner having to have a further two operations which in all likelihood could have been prevented, misleading assurances at best, and outright lies at worst that doctors had consulted with my partners specialist, and repeated failure by various A&E doctors to diagnose septicaemia.......the list goes on and on. Some people may have received adequate care from this hospital, but unfortunately my partner isn't one of them. We are truly at the end of our tether so at this point we are not interested in bland responses from the hospital offering to investigate our complaints. Been there, got the T Shirt and sad to say nothing changes. My sole purpose in writing this review is to alert others to the appalling state of affairs at Queens and offer a heartfelt plea to avoid this hospital at all costs.
