What I liked
This was my first experience as an inpatient and I was very nervous however I found the care I received to be excellent.Every step of my treatment was explained to me and I was treated as an individual and not as a block admission. I was more impressed with how all the different departments worked together as a team. The cleaners , doctors, nurses and catering staff had the patients welfare uppermost and I never once saw them lose thier patiance or be intolerant of the demands placed on them even by the odd 'awkward' patient. It was almost a pleasure to witness such professionalism at close quarters. My fear of having to go into hospital has been put to bed. Long may it continue.
What could be improved
This is difficult as I was a first time patient and only saw positives. There is one thing that could be done, if at all possible, and that is on release. I think it would be nice if the patient could be seen by perhaps the ward sister in private so that any questions about the standard of care during the stay or matters concerning follow up treatment could be discussed.
