Anything else?
I had my first visit to QA today for an ENT referal (that I had to wait 9 mths from my GP to action, having now suffered with sinus problems for a year and a half).
The initial experience on arrival was novel, as it was well signposted where to go, and where to park, and finding a spot was easy. Likewise the maps and receptionists were great for directions, so instead of floundering around for ages as I normally do in new places, I was directed quickly and with no confusion, to all areas I had to get to during my visit.
The ENT specialist actually called me in early for my apmt!
He was quick, efficient, and thorough in the examination, and I was given various follow on forms in order for blood test's, CT scan and follow up ENT apmt.
The nurse was super and explained where to go and what to do from there.
So I went to the phlebotomist, got a ticket, only 10 min wait and I was being seen. Again lovely friendly nurse, who chatted to me whilst taking the blood.
Then on to CT/Xray dpmt to put that form in, where they offered me the apmt date within 5 mins, which I had to rearrange to a better time, and this was all done quickly, with no fuss, and a helpful attitude.
I was in and out of the hospital within an hour, with all different department apmt's arranged, or done.
I have literally been blown away today with the ease and efficiency of my apmt. It has restored my faith in the NHS.
I look forward to my next ENT apmt in a couple of months for the results of all the tests, and to hopefully find out what is actually wrong, after suffering for the past 18mths in palliative GP care.
"Efficient, helpful & friendly."
