"Planned hospital admission "

About: University Hospital Monklands / General Surgery (Wards 4 & 7)

(as the patient),

Arrived at surgical day unit, warm greeting from staff, promptly seen by reception staff, nurse, anaesthetist and surgeon, all within the hour. Given very full information, clearly and sensitively given. I was extremely anxious and this was noted, passed on and dealt with.

Pre-op staff in theatre were incredibly kind as I was still very anxious. Anaesthetist saw me also again pre-op.

Post-op I was very sick, and was again dealt with swiftly and with compassion and dignity.

This attitude continued in the ward, both day and night shift, nursing, medical and support staff.

I have nothing but praise for all staff I came into contact with.
