Anything else?
First, my thanks to the Paramedic Team that got me to St Peter's. They were most considerate and professional. The A&E was clean, everyone was attentive and helpful and immediate pain relief for a fractured femur worked well. The medical team was thorough and very professional, at the same time, thoughtful and supportive. My husband who accompanied me was kept informed throughout of my situation.
There was no resentment at all, when I elected to be moved to a private hospital for further treatment, which can sometimes be evident with some NHS staff and as my husband explained to the doctor in charge of my care, there was absolutely no reflection on the medical staff and just because I preferred the convenience and privacy a private hospital is able to provide. Some say 'private' is jumping the queue, but in my case, the NHS would have operated several hours earlier than the hospital I went to, it saved the NHS precious surgeon and nursing staff time and left a bed free for ten days for someone else. Something to be encouraged, I suggest, if the option is available, to conserve the NHS's limited resources. Well done, St Peter's A&E!
