"Waiting for a replacement aortic valve"

About: Castle Hill Hospital

Anything else?

Having been referred for surgery for a replacement aortic valve and told there was a 18 week waiting list we now find that my husband is not on the list for April's surgery let alone March when the 18 weeks was up. His health is deteriorating and whilst everyone you speak to on the phone is polite and sympathetic we feel abandoned. We no longer feel as he is on a waiting list. We are going to have to contact the hospital each week and just keep prodding away in the hope that finally someone will decide that my husband is worthy a cause to have this life saving operation. Telling patients to wait patiently for 18 weeks then offer no appointment in the next 6 weeks following that is moving the goal posts massively and piling more stress onto an already stressful situation.
