" Lots of diagnoses in Stoke"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital / Cardiology Telford and Wrekin PCT

(as the patient),

It all started in December 2004 when I had a stroke. It was first diagnosed as a migrane headache. This all lead to me not sleeping well at night, so I contacted my GP and was sent for tests only to find that I had gallstones which they removed my bladder.

Then in December 2005 they did routine checks on my heart. And found that I have a 12.5mm hole in it. I was then refered to Stoke. I was advised that it would be in the region of 4 to 6 months wait.

Two weeks ago I received a call telling me that I was to be at Stoke at the end of August. I then received a letter confirming the date and time. I made arrangements at work for the time off.

And then return a call to the Dr office which was an answer phone. When I returned home I got a message from my father stating that due to an emergency they have cancelled my appointment two weeks from now and I now have to report there in mid-September. I did not realise that the NHS had a crystal ball and could see emergencies happening before they do.
