Admitted to A&E 18/3/13 by ambulance I'm asthmatic and I was struggling to breathe ( I'm also a nurse) when I got to the hospital having been on oxygen in ambulance when they removed the oxygen my sats dropped so they kept me on it. At the A&E dept. they told the ambulance crew I would have to sit in the very full waiting room oxygen was remove and there I sat struggling to breathe for 2 hrs until I was called by a wonderful caring nurse who got a dr to listen to my chest she said it was clear (ambulance crew said it was full of crackles) I knew it was vey wheezy and bubbly so then sat in waiting room for. Med doc called at nine dr said bad infection plus asthma attack . As a nurse I was disgusted at the A&E dr not to being able to diagnose a wheezy and infected chest my oxygen levels still low she wasn't interested . I sat in the waiting area watching and I really thought the whole experience for everyone attending your A&E dept. was a nightmare.
