I went in for keyhole surgery, but due to complications had to have a laparotomy. The nurses and doctors of Ward 1 looked after me brilliantly and gave me the best possible care. They kept my partner and me well informed phoning him to let him know I was out of surgery, the consultant even called him off my phone to explain what I had had done as she missed him during the visiting hours. I had heard lots of horror about Heartlands, but from my experience none were true. The hospital was clean and the staff friendly. The only slight compliant is the discharge lounge is not sign posted, so my partner struggled to find it. Other than that the care was great and I am so thankful to all of the staff in Ward 1.
