Anything else?
Over the last year I have been in and out of Willow B half a dozen times (the longest being for three months), ICU twice and have gone to dialysis for three times a week as well as having some lesser contact with larch, maple, X ray and some other areas.
All of them have been incredible. I am so comfortable with the nurses on willow b and at dialysis, they make me feel really safe and, particularly on dialysis, talk to and entertain me while I have to sit for my treatment for four hours. The ward is always clean with nurseswho go beyond their duty and working hours to keep patients safe and happy. My consultant, and the other renal doctors, always treat me with respect and never discuss things with my parents rather than me (I was sixteen last year when I originally became ill), making me feel like they trust and listen to me.
I don't know what I would have done without a lot of these staff over the last year, when I have been particularly ill they have been leniant with my parents about visiting hours because I could technically have been in a childs ward, they tried everything to tempt my appetite, hug and comfort me if I get upset.
I could write so much more but would merely repeat myself. The whole of the renal unit, and ICU, have been absolutely amazing with me and deserve some recognition for it, the whole hosptal is fab - it's like a second home now!
