My daughter was born at lister hospital and sadly had no heartbeat and couldn't be revived.

The maternity staff were incredible from the point I got in the hospital. Whilst my story is extremely devastating, it was the care, knowledge, sympathy, respect and dignity every member of the team showed me my partner and my family that gives me faith in the jubilee maternity unit. They did everything possible to save my daughter and me... Unfortunately Daisy couldn't be saved.

We have since helped make further improvements to the unit including helping to fund the stillbirth family room.

I hope know one who reads this has to use the services we did but please be confident in the care you will receive at the unit

Sometimes when you read feedback left by users of our hospitals services and you are lost for words. This is one of those occasions. To speak so highly of our staff about the care you received at what must be one of the most sad times in your life speaks volumes for you and your partner.

We're so sorry that Daisy couldn't be saved, but heartened that the experience you received at the hands of our staff has led you to want to help others. For the vast majority of mothers, giving birth to a child is a time of great joy. On a few occasions, some are not so lucky - but we know our staff will give them the same support and attention, perhaps even more so. After all, it's the least we can do.

Which is why we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the courage you have taken to share these kind and thought-provoking words, which we know our maternity team colleagues will enjoy reading - as well as be moved by them deeply. Thank you so much.
