-St Richards Chichester - most noticeable, even though the staff were clearly busy and stretched, was how the ambiance remained professional and calm. The ward and wash room was clean and everyone polite caring and courteous. Whilst awaiting test results it was impossible not to overhear comments made by other patients or relatives and during my stay they were unanimously complimentary. I personally spent a number of years before retirement working for the NHS both clinically and in management and prior to retiring I was a specialist advisor to a CQC inspections team. I mention this as my faith in the NHS had and is regularly challenged but encouragingly, my short stay in St Richards has gone a long way to restoring it.
