"Doctor did not tell me about referral process"

About: Plymouth Teaching PCT Tamar Referral & Appointments Centre

(as the patient),

Doctor did not tell me how I would be contacted, nor did he tell me about the service/referral process. I do not know who (title – role – etc) I will be seeing.

Dear Name463,

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience of using the TRAC service and I apologise you did not receive the information you needed when making an appointment. In the majority of patient referrals, the GP Practice provides the patient with an information leaflet detailing the next steps and that the Tamar Referral Appointments Centre (TRAC) team will contact the patient directly to book an appointment. It seems as though you did not receive this information.

Unfortunately TRAC does not hold information about specific clinicians working in hospital departments or clinics. The hospital ordinarily would send you a confirmation letter to outline any information you would need to know about your appointment and the clinician overseeing your care.

If you still require or have not yet received this information about your appointment please do not hesitate to contact me on 01626 883712. I work from Monday to Friday from 9am until 5pm. Alternatively you can also email me at cab.helpdesk@nhs.net.

Best Wishes

Gemma Tremlett
