"Left smiling from Wellington Road Surgery, Newport"

About: Telford and Wrekin PCT

(as the patient),

Referral made by Dr O’Toole at Wellington Health Centre. Excellent explanation of condition and why referral. Also pleasant and courteous manner.

Quicker appointment at Newport than PRH. I had heard horror stories of endoscopies so phoned sister Holmes I was worried the day before the appointment. She was very reassuring and took time to explain the procedure again although I had in the past received explicit explanation of the procedure.

On arrival at clinic, did not have to wait very long before sister took me into private room to tell me exactly what to expect – then into Dr to answer any questions I may have. Extremely pleasant Dr Fitzgerald Frazer shook my hand and explained I could have a spray to my throat or have it without. I chose without and was taken to the procedure room – more reassurance by nurses and doctor before treatments. In all, the endoscopy turned out to be completely painless and though not pleasant, not nearly as bad as I thought - thanks to skill and experience of the Dr. Explanation given on findings afterwards. Left the clinic smiling.

Thank you for taking the time to give TRAQS some feedback following your recent referral.

What a positive story. Well done on undergoing the procedure without any spray. Having undergone this procedure myself I know first hand how you must have felt before the appointment. As you say it is not a pleasant experience but thankfully it's soon over.

I will pass on your very kind comments to the staff at the Wellington Road clinic.
