arthritis meant a total knee replacement required. The consultant was honest in his pre-op brief and told me everything that would happen. When his team took over, the prefessionalism continued. Running commentary on what whas happening, what-and why-things were being done and a slick, well organised and happy team made sure i went into surgery completely informed. Recovery from a spinal jab should have been quick but in my case had given me a higher block than normal. This was explained to me in recovery and i had at least 1 member of staff with me at all times. As the block wore off, i was offered a cup of tea, not normal but i had been there a long time and really appreciated it. Onto Ward 16 to meet the most professional, cheerful, dedicated and caring health team i could have wished for. I spent 5 days on the ward and was looked after even in the wee small hours when sleep refused to come .

All in all, having never been in a hospital before, never had an operation before i feel that if this team is indicitave of our NHS, i have every confidence that when i need my next knee i will be more than happy to go through it again with this team-thank you
