"A & E need common sense"

About: King George Hospital

Anything else?

Had to rush my husband there yesterday, 8th Feb 2013 with suspected DVT in his arm after recent operation.

45 mins to see Triage who checked him over and said he'd need a blood test.

After 2 hrs went through to cubicles where a doctor came, then another; couldn't decide what it was. Then someone wheeled a trolley round with a computer type thing on it and a bit later wheeled it out again not using it.

3 1/2 hrs after getting there had blood test which took 30 mins to get results.

Left the hospital after 4 hours and it wasn't even busy.

Why on earth wasn't the blood test done first then we'd have been out of the way in under 2 hrs?

Would still rather go here than Queens though.

Dear Pam,

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns about your experience of the Emergency Department at King George Hospital.

I was concerned to read about your experience and would appreciate the opportunity of looking into the points you have raised in more detail. It would be useful if you could provide some more details to enable an investigation to take place into these concerns.

Should you wish to discuss this matter further please contact a member of the Patient Advice & Liaison Services (PALS) on 01708 435454 or email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk

Yours sincerely,

Flo Panel-Coates
