"Maternity unity scans"

About: Darent Valley Hospital

Anything else?

I am very disapointed in your service. Firstly we had been told that a scan date had been booked but received no letter and on phoning prior had found out my wife had been forgotten only to then be told there are no appointments. I had to call up to sort this out where we could only have an evening cancellation but now could not have the arranged blood tests.

We went along now to find we needed to come back again for another scan NT but we now have the issue of no space. While in the unit we were specifically told nothing will be available due to all booked but to wait and see.

As the father I am alowd no input at all but am so frustrated as is my wife when told to call back as we were passed on.

My wife called back to ask today to be told there is nothing available but a note has been written to be booked in around the 28th but no confirmation? And we are suspecting the same again as of there is no consideration for my wife or our arrangements.

This is our baby and we are both going to be living parents worried that we are just forgotten in a system. Surely there should be some confirmation where a little life is concerned but we are now in worry to see if my wife will actually have her scan of not now.

As full paying tax payers we would have thought we would be entitled to a service we pay towards as being busy or under subset fused is not our problem that is the governments.

We are so sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the experiences you have had with our scanning department. We would very much like to investigate this on your behalf, so please could you or your wife contact us on the details below. Please be assured that we do actively encourage expectant fathers to be involved in their partners care (if she so wishes) and we do strive to make all experiences at our hospital good ones but sadly accept sometimes we can get it wrong.
