My 19-year-old daughter, a student at university was taken ill last week. I collected her from uni with what seemed to be a bad cold last Wednesday but she got worse. Friday lunch time her symptoms were so worrying I took her to the local GP, where she isn’t even registered any more as she has been living away. We got an appointment in two hours. The GP was concerned enough about her symptoms to send my daughter to hospital. We took a letter, were seen immediately, tested, examined and x-rayed in three hours. Thankfully it was just a very nasty virus and she is now recovering. All of the staff were absolutely lovely – friendly, reassuring and efficient. There was even a tea trolley with free drinks for patients and relatives. I could not have been more impressed.
