"My Mothers illness and 111"

About: East Of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust NHS 111

(as a carer),

rang 111 as my mothers legs were swollen and blotchy, she was also wheezzing. I had to demand that a doctor came out, he diagnosed cellulitis but when asked said she didn't have chest infection, gave her antibiotics. Following weekend she had become worse so used 111 again and asked for a doctor to visit, the doctor that came was the same one as previous week and he told me she had a chest infection! so prescribed yet more antibiotics. A couple of weeks later on a sunday morning my mother was even worse so again called 111 and having explained my call was eventually returned by a doctor who said she should take 2 paracetamol every 6 hours! two hours later with my mother worsening I called an ambulance and she was taken to hospital where she has been for the past week.
