Anything else?
I was very disappointed with the treatment that I received in the minor injuries unit when I visited it last.
.
I had to attend MIU twice and on each occasion the receptionist was very pleasant and kind. I also attended the Xray dept. twice and there the receptionist and radiotherapists were also very pleasant and very kind. The nursing staff, however, made me feel I was completely wasting their time. My quite badly broken toe which was leaking exudate was barely looked at I wasn't referred to a doctor and one of the nurses I saw after a cursory glance informed me that I had athletes foot.
I was told I should have gone to my practice nurse. Eventually I did but I was feeling very apologetic by this time being convinced that I would be wasting their time too. The practice nurse had a good look at my toe, got my Doctor to have a look at it who sent me off for an xray. Now I'm having good treatment at our practice on a badly broken toe.
I was extremely disappointed because I have had excellent treatment from Bridgwater Hospital in the past and also because having been a nurse myself I always thought that one of the characteristics of nurses - an important one - was being sensitive and kind.
