Attended A&E on Sunday after referral by a Minor treatment centre at another hospital. There was a bit of a wait, but that's to be expected. A doctor inspected my hand wound, but asked for me to attend next day to see a surgeon because the wound was quite deep and needed to opened up to be sure everything was okay. A doctor called me on Monday morning to advise me to pop in for further investigation and I got to see her and a surgeon quite quickly. At every level the medical staff were very professional, friendly, enthusiastic and accommodating. I got the impression that they really care about their patients and it seems to be a place where they strive for excellence.
I was a bit disappointed that the cleaner who was supposed to check the toilet facilities in the A+E waiting area every half hour didn't check the cubicles themselves but just quickly glanced over from the door next to reception - he could have bothered to walk the five paces or so. Other than that the cleanliness seems to be taken seriously. The hospital itself is quite amazing - a futuristic spaceship full of art. Good hospital - getting things right.
