Getting to surgery at the Doncaster Royal Infirmary was a long haul - from sitting with my GP in May '07 to seeing a specialist in September of that year, it was not until June '08 that I went in to surgery. This seems to have been a long time to wait to me, but I remain grateful nonetheless.
I think that, as part of the pre-op, patients should be advised that, following gastric surgery, their driving insurance is likely to be invalid for at least a week - I would have prepared my post-op calendar differently if I had known this.
Other than this, I have nothing but praise for the team who helped me through this milestone. WIth the best of intentions, it is my hope not to have to see any of them again professionally, but I thank them personally for their work.
