"The Nurses on Ward #5 of the Hartshead North Building"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

(as a service user),

I was taken to Tameside General Hospital Early in 2O11 with a supposed 'Inner Ear infection' I was suffering with Severe vertigo and nausea. I was taken into hospital and it was actually an alright experience.

Gemma, Gill, Donna and Rachel who were the staff on my ward looked after me very well. I could'nt thank them enough for their care and support. I have never really fully recovered though I still suffer from these symptoms every day but as time's gone on I've kind of learnt to live with it.

I have Arthritis in my neck which doesn't make it much better (lol). But yeah and even though it's been just over 2 Year's since I was in hospital I still remember my experience etc etc! ! ! I even remember the other people who were on my ward whilst I was in there.

I know that Tameside hospital probably get's more than half a dozen patient's every day so the chance's of the doctor's and nurse's remembering me is unlikely.

It would be nice to say Hello to them and have a chat with them again! ! ! It was Ward number 5 in the Hartshead North Building.

Thank you for taking the time to post your positive comments on the Patient Opinion website.

Thank you for your kind words.

I will make sure the nurses on Ward 5 are made aware of them.

Best Wishes,

Paul Williams

Director of Clinical Services.

Would you like to help the hospital to improve its services further? We are currently looking for patients and carers to become involved in a development called “Patient Stories”. We want to know more about our services from the point of view of those who received them – what was good, bad, what could be improved, what should be changed. Want to know more about what’s involved? Please contact John Goodenough, Director of Nursing at
