"Lack of Care in the Community"

About: North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

(as a service user),

I am concerned about how service users access continued support in the community. In my experience, peoples' files lay dormant and have to wait until they are in crisis to get the support they need, rather than a support network which would prevent crisis, its like waiting until its too late. From what I've seen, often people go to GPs with mental health issues and GPs try to get support for the patient but find it frustrating having to wait and who to contact for the support to become available.

I feel its not the people in the teams, its the management level which means that theres not enough mental health workers. My treatment involved changes of care coordinator and then being put on the dormant list, it was all so difficult it would make me reluctant to approach services in the future.
