I was referred to a lady from six-degrees by my GP. This was fantastic as it was set up in my surgery so no worries as to where I was to go, or how to get there. (normally not a problem, but due to how I was feeling I would of probably not gone if it was elsewhere).
To me, my mind was like a bowl of spaghetti with hundreds of issues running around the bowl. I was trying to push the ends back into the bowl and not deal with the strands that kept falling out. Even after only a couple of sessions I started to face up and sort out issues 1 by 1. From the support and sensible guidance given to me, I had several more sessions each week and slowly started to see me again when I looked in the mirror. I would not have thought this possible from such informal /yet professional sessions. I will be eternally grateful for the help and support that I have been given.
I am 52 yrs old and have never experienced what I have been through before so as you can imagine I was scared about the whole process.
I was put at my ease - in a comfortable environment - a box of tissues (these were needed on early appointments). Bit by bit, she emotionally picked me up and dusted me off so that I would have the strength to address and sort out issues affecting me. My self esteem rose and I was able to ask anything without fear of feeling daft.
An excellent service which made me feel that I could slowly get back onto the "hamster's wheel of life" again.
I have learnt strategies to cope with life's ups and downs.
I would not change anything.
Thank you
