Thank you to East Lancashire Hospitals for assisting me and my family - the care i and they received at Royal Blackburn and then Burnley General was 1st Class - staff worked together and took every opportunity to involve me in the care and discharge planning too. However - is it any wonder that such a poor local reputation is magnified when the front line service of PALS gives an impression of such doom and gloom. I wanted to take my opportunity of attending an outpatient clinic appointment at Burnley to give some comments as well as seeking some advice for my future appointment - the PALS offcier who ' assissted me' - i say this with some reservation - was not helpful and seemed to be comparing the service in the hospital to the PALS service in the community where according to her services were much better prior to PCT transfer because they were less busy and more involved. I then witnessed discussions between the her and the staff which were incredulous - Prior to redundancy I worked for years in the private sector where loyalty and committment was a given - i would not have dreamed of speaking in front of customers in relation to how busy i was - I was grateful for the work- Thanks again for the care but i didn't' appreciate listening to a public sector employee moaning about being busy and employed especially as i wanted to have a conversation - not a lecture
