We waited for over 5 hours in the new unit to be seen on a Monday evening this February. After this lengthy wait and X ray, we finally get to see a clinician.
He was not aware that we had had an X ray so he went off to view it. My wife had a bad fall and we had already spent nearly 2 hours at the Heward walk in centre who sent us to A & E. He came back looked at my wife and after no examination at all said every thing was fine and to go home and take pain killers. This took all of 1 min and 20 secs.
Since this visit my wife has been in dreadful pain so I made an appointment to see a sports therapist who identified a problem with the tendons and nerves in her arm. He is now treating this at £40 per session. The new A & E facility looks good but looked to be under staffed with no clinician apparently having time to make a proper examination. I shall be taking this issue to the Ombudsman.
