Anything else?
I was admitted as an emergency to Southend hospital and subsequantly had an emergency bowel resection. I would like to give the highest rating possible to the treatment nad care provided by A and E, Chalkwell and Hockley ward staff. Staff explained what was happening at all times, I did not spend too long at a A and E. The wards clean and over my 10 day stay could see that systematic cleaning was taking place. The ward were kept as quite as possible at night times and the food looked good, although I did not have much opprtunity to try much myself. I was imoble due to drips etc for much of the time, but staff wer quick to respond to me buzzing them. Pain releif after my operation was particulary good and I was regularly asked how much pain I was in.
I have almost no previous experience of being an in patient at a hospital but was pleasantly suprpised by almost all aspects of my stay. I am forever grateful for the NHS and hope it will long continue.
